SYDNEY SIZZLES IN SUMMER'S HEAT!
The tabloid headlines oft repeat

Alliteration aside, there are aspects of Summer I can’t abide

The smoke of bushfires on the air,
The stink of it like burning hair
The heat bleaching the suburbs white,
Dry Westerlies with no respite
The road rage baked in steel ovens,
The brown lawns and withered gardens
Always sticky, tired and dehydrated,
Sunburn and flies and feeling bloated
Desperately trying to stay cool
Among screaming kids at the local pool

But there are those other Summer faces, that have us blessing our good graces

The sidewalks releasing clouds of steam
After sudden bursts of tepid rain
The beaches at any time of the day,
Boats in sail across the bay
The cool film of sweat worn at night,
That extra hour, with its gift of light
The welcome arrival of a Southerly Buster,
Balmy nights overlooking the harbour
Summer love, hot and languid
And ice cold beers, amber fluid

So in Sydney this Summer, we’ll sizzle, and sightsee and snuggle and savour the supreme season. The imagery was excellent! I appreciated the comparison of the two sides of the season.
"Road rage baked in steel ovens" nice! Never thought of it that way. Great job. Thanks for sharing.

In my opinion this is the worst one of yours I've read and it's PERFECT, AWESOME, ENJOYABLE, MASTERFUL, and well written too. huh. You're too much, you young, cranky, whippersnapper!
