The future is bleak and barren
cracks in the sand form a mosaic
Luring me into the murky depths
the rot of life so compelling
Banished into realms of regret
angry mobs nip at my heels
Applause and adulation at my feats
crown of achivement to be sought
Reward all wicked temptations
their souls belong to none
A throne in my imagination
seeping waterfalls of anguish
Caverns of dung that claim victory
the cycle ends before it begins
Nailed to the wall to pay it homage
backs of the legs lashed raw
Trees raining dreams into quicksand
cries in the night so forlorn
Awaken to find I' m still sleeping
candle wax covers my hands
The trod of the down and downtrodden
playing music through echoing halls
Lost and alone and found and reborn
mere toys for my wicked pleasure
Rancid aromas so alluring
tainted egos that stumble and fall
Look at me...look at me...look at me
my tower is crumbling to rise
Peel their flesh for their pity
devour that which they can't see
Holding the whip that brings sanity
feed on the pain they absorb
Leading them on with deception
jagged cliffs rising below
Carcasses bloated and bursting
the rot of life so compelling
