That you brought down
Was determined to
Meet with the ground

With us inbetween
I can't describe
The pain I felt
Without diatribe

Knuckles sinking down
Into solid ground
Trying to keep these
knees off the ground

Holding far too long
For an absent song
Collapsing anyway
To find it all gone

The straw that
Broke the mind and back
Was not the weight, but
Your additional attacks

And so you win
You broke the only one
Who cared enough to try
Under this eclipsed sun

What's done is done
And moving on
I find that
You're never really gone

All that spent emotion
That great catastrophy
Managed to grow greater
Than both you and me

It's been years, and still
I'm half underneath
Watching my heart
Spit out broken teeth

My tongue tasting like
Wet ashes in my mouth
Remebering how
Everything went South

My words sent out to
The world as a smoke
Clouding my meanings
And making me choke

I have been trying now
For far too long
To purge myself
Of your absent song

The more I try, it seems
The more it stays on
I write and write and write
But it is never truly gone

Until now, I feel
Finally, its grip slipping
MY feet coming into cadence
Despite my heart-heavy tripping

Coming out onto this
Long winter beach
Where I am suddenly
Beyond all reach

And it feels great
Seeing gray sand
Bleed into gray skies
Painting an unpromised land

Doubled for the living
I doubt you'd recognize
What you would see
Behind these aged eyes. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 511 [topic] => 43 [informant] => xnoybis [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

Very entrancing, up lifting.
Sounds like a peice of heaven but then another tine of year it could be hell.

Doubled for the living
I doubt you'd recognize
What you would see
Behind these aged eyes.

I bet it's all good 'cause luv is what matters!
We all get pot bellies sooner or later.
I bet there's endless luv in those eyes.
huggs,
emy
