Array ( [sid] => 112186 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => goodbye grandpa [time] => 2005-12-27 22:29:59 [hometext] => this is a poem i just wrote about my grandpa who gave up on living tonight and passed away comments welcome [bodytext] => off in the distance what do i see
a band of angels but they aren't for me
my dear mother they've come to take grandpa away
i know that it hurts but we know he just can't stay
i sit and i think about the years that have passed
and all those sweet memories i never thought would last
a tear rolls silently down my cheek
and anguish has stolen my voice so i can't speak
he like a hero, my own John Wayne
now he's riding on that heaven bound train
see that chariot does swing low my old friend
and heaven consists of a unique blend
don't worry about us you know we'll be fine
and we'll come and visit when it is our time
we'll all ride together on that long black train
only stopping when we feel no more pain
so there is nothing i can say and nothng i can do
so goodbye grandpa i'm gonna miss you [comments] => 4 [counter] => 547 [topic] => 52 [informant] => outlaw_mutiny [notes] => Edited for Spelling as Requested by Moderator_15 [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => goodbyepoetry )

Really touching, I'm sure it would've meant a lot to him. Sorry to hear about that, too.

Very wonderful tribute to someone whomyou were obviously close to.
Perhaps to improve the flow, take out the word "just" in the fourth line, otherwise a sadly sweet piece.
