LISTEN MY CHILD

Mother Earth spoke to me
before the trees wore snow,
Blinded is brother Owl from it's glow.
Are you listening to me, my small papoose?
Four seasons ago, you breathed life 'neath the
Great bare Spruce

I tell you these words so they follow you
Many Many Moons
You will speak of these sayings in the tribunes
For all moons be gentle with your brother
Soft to his heart like the Blue Bird answer
When you see him without food, you give him
yours is that heard?

Mother Earth will supply you many times
over if you hear this word.
And when his heart is crying out,
you sit with him, and listen
The Great Spirit then will see you
for He is hidden.

Always look behind you, and see
if you have left good
You can never walk like a man
if you did bad in your childhood.
Oh Great Spirit help my child to
hear your word
For we are all apart of your plan
Help him to sing like the Meadow Lark
and not be eaten by the buzzard.

Please teach him how to love your
Earth, and all his brothers and Sisters
To give his best bow and arrow and respect
not just to his, but all cultures.
My heart holds Warm Love
for you all my brothers & sisters
And May the Great Spirit
Fill you with love and mercy
four seasons and many moons from this day
And may your hearts n'er be lonely

This poem is beautifully tender notes.. taking care of nature, we all must still do, for what is left.. sad the land was taken away, destroying the beauty of it.. nature, we must take care of it, before it takes care of us.. teaching our children is the right thing... teach them correctly.. just like Jesus taught us those important stories of truth.. this poem has nice lessons, it is a prayer in itself... all of us children should love to hear these wise words... wonderful write consue... ConSue,
A little bird told me that I needed to explore your work. I am sorry it took so long.

This is beautifully written. It tells a story of love, hope and faith to me.

You have also made me miss the beauty and simple life of my home there in Wyoming.

*truly misses the Meadow Larks song*
