She is a delicate floral pattern

Her own calligraphic cadence to those mannerisms

The fragile titter that peeks out

From behind those pearly teeth that lay beneath

The timid lips atop the glitzy braces

She is a patchwork quilt

Her random stitches thrown into place

Askew like the thoughts that trip through her brain

Where nonconformity basks in the black-light

And earth tones make love to their fluorescent foes

She is deliberate.

There is logic in her locks of unkempt hair.

Her sensible laugh harmonizes with her comfortable shoes.

Efficiency and analytical progress stem

From the freckles that lie pointedly on her cheeks.

I have no pattern

No color

No hue

No shape

No essence

No rhythm

No originality

I am a piece that adapts to fit the puzzle

I am a chameleon blending with the trees to save my life

I am a flower longing to be picked

I am lyrics taken out of context

Call me Kate

Oh, Anitawoo --- this is fabulous! Fa-bu-lous!!!! You really, really did a great job here! I'm terribly impressed and, I don't mind saying, a little jealous! How wonderfully descriptive and... poignant. You should be very proud of this --- it really is quite memorable (as are you, hon... as are you!)!

So very glad she got to read this,
~Snemmy
(who, actually... read it twice --- here and on myspace --- a loved it both times!)
