A bowl half filled with jello
Two pieces of pie
You looked us all over
Now give me a try
A pork chop, a grapefruit, macaroni and cheese
It's starting to smell bad, pick me won't you please –
Don't want no more bottom shelf blue
It's a Tupperware jungle - even the best stand to lose.

You left me here facing some chicken and rice
You loved me for one night - you can sure love me twice
I'm ready, I'm waiting - you don't need nothing new
Tale me as I am - or turn me into stew

Don't need no more - No more bottom shelf blues
When will you people learn - Don't make more than you can use

I'm counting the minutes - I won't last one more day
I'll be no good to no one when you throw me away
You left me in the dark - and you left me in the cold
I'm not getting better - I’m just getting old

Don't want no more Bottom shelf blues.....

Would you know, I am laughing and crying throughout this poem.. So many important lessons in life, our food of life, warns us, and we enjoy once, and then boredom follows, throwing away life, our food, crying food, speaks to us, we bite off more than we can chew at times.. this is a wonderful poem, sometimes we can see ourselves as bottom shelf blues as well.
