As the sun kisses the moon
Darkness shadows the night
The wind it gently plays
An octet under the light

The resin of burnt ashes
Smouldered, sleep at last
As sorrow now ponders
Pain is forever cast

Tears that’s shed bring solace
If only for just awhile
Like the comfort of a mother
Nursing her newborn child

When the sea of despair washes
Covers you with its spray
Happiness will be your towel
To dry your blues away

So when you think that all is lost
To you your dreams have fled
Keep the faith inside your heart
For there's brighter days ahead

Beautifully written and a fine tribute! Great imagery,
clever rhyme.. all make this piece my favourite of the
day.

Tears that’s shed bring solace
If only for just awhile
Like the comfort of a mother
Nursing her newborn child

Very thoughtful and heartfelt
can't wait to read more

What a lovely tribute to dear and loving friends, and which gives us some enlightment as to how you yourself are, because it takes one to know one my dear.
And I'm so glad that have realized too, that there are brighter days ahead too!
Your days will be up and down, like during any mourning time, but if you continue to look for the brighter ones, more will appear.
I send you warm hugs and much love, and know you will be all right!
Compassionate hugs dear Sue
Warm love
