Array ( [sid] => 112677 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => A Simple Message [time] => 2006-01-06 15:54:21 [hometext] => I've been reading the Book of Jeremiah lately and relating then and now [bodytext] => Jeremiah, a prophet, in a land far from here and so very long ago
Was sent by the very jealous God of Heaven to the people of earth below
To give them a simple message so extremely bold and so loudly clear
The message was simply: People, people--Return to me and hold me dear!
What were the people doing so desperately wrong that angered the Lord?
They did their own thing, Trusting in self and turning to wrong gods to adore.
Wrong gods?: Trusting in things or others and worshipping gods of stone.
God's ways were not their ways - His ways were 'fairy tales' they'd outgrown!
To seek the God of Heaven would only be found among the weak
To trust in the Word from a prophet would make them an early 'freak'
Living the wise old world's ways were much more exciting, pleasant and fun!
Who wanted to be restricted by a God who created the sun?
The 'dooms-day' God-prophet was just way too ridiculous to swallow
They wanted to squelch Jeremiah from their preferred road they followed

SOOO is this some antique-fairy tale that should be tossed out today?
Are we soooo much better than the people of Jeremiah's day?
Aren't we doing the same as the people so very long ago?
Are we worshipping self-made-gods made of silver, gold and/or stone?
I keep hearing that God is for the past--we have evolved--'outgrown'
Gee whiz--we better not even admit to believe in Him
After all, He's just the creation of a fairy-tale whim
I beg your pardon, if you are offended and really feel this way
But the answers written in His Word are still to believe in today
It is still a simple message so extremely bold and loudly clear
The message is simply: People, people--Return to me and hold me dear!

Don't take this lightly -- Please, don't toss it aside like some old book
The day is coming when His anger won't hold back - better look!
He just wants to be the only God of our souls, mind and heart
He even paid the price for us--don't we owe him for that part?
Come on--don't just say this is some archaic fairy tale too hard to believe
Tell me where this old world can offer a loving God full of peace to receive?
His anger is aroused by our indifference and intolerance to Him
But His arms are still open wide for a humbled, true believing friend!
I still hear the simple message so extremely bold and loudly clear
The message is simply: People, people--Return to me and hold me dear! Jeremiah, a prophet, in a land far from here and so very long ago

Once we, like Jeremiah, make up our minds, and trust in the Lord, He will touch our mouths and place good words into them, He will guide us, opening up our eyes to see great things here, and also He will deliver us into His Kingdom. Jeremiah did not think He could do what the Lord asked Him to do, He knows each of us all too well, and He knows our capabilities when we have faith.. believe, trust in Him. Return to Him, and He shall give us what we need, not what we want or desire, but what He will give to each of us, and He has a gift for each of us waiting, as soon as we knock. When I first gave my heart to Him, I was on cloud 9, then after a week, I felt nothing, its as if the magic all wore off, and then I thought, now what do I do, I am not feeling good feelings. So, I prayed and prayed about it, kept my trust, and presto, because I kept my faith, He gives and gives and gives. I am so happy I never gave up on Him, and He never gave up on me. It happens to a lot of people, giving their hearts to Him, and then after a few days, you feel nothing, so then you think, oh my, now what, and some give up, stop believing. I have tried to do things my way, and I always failed, and with His Love, He raises me up higher each day. I love Him so. Thank you for this most beautiful write Linda.. God has His way of choosing those things He wants us to do. He would never ask me to be a brick builder, instead, He gave me the gift of spiritual insight , and learning how write the facts of spiritual truth in my poetry. And with His love, I practice and I know I will get better and better at writing, I have faith He will keep teaching me how to place those loving words down on paper, and His hand will guide my pen. Hugs.. raquel leah
