It was the time that she still loved you
It was before my dad was "a no good slob"
It was before mom screamed "I hate you"
It was the day that my innocence died and was severed
It was the day that changed my life forever
Barely married for 5 years
I remember now, the beginning of my tears
A little boy, just 5 years old
No parents found, lost in the cold
You worked in the day, mom worked at night
No time together, except when you fight
Reduction in income, the bills go higher
Betrayal of your marriage, you both become liars
Integrity compromised, self esteem sags
So you both used your son as a punching bag
"It's your fault we're married, it's your fault we're poor"
When you're that ***** young, those words you can't ignore
As the pressure mounts, resentment starts to destroy
your marriage more then you have another boy
Mom loses a job, dad stays in a bar
I can't fight back, here's the beginning of my scars
You use your sons against each other
You became my tormentor instead of father and mother
Trapped in your life, and nowhere to go
You're hating your life, and beating me so
No friends in school, I'm picked on, tormented
The scars on my childhood forever cemented
Because you also were helpless, alone and abused
When you were both children, so you had an excuse
You passed on to us, what was done on to you
To make yourself feel better, by hurting us two
And when that wasn't enough, just like lambs to a slaughter
You made your defeat complete, by having a daughter
Now 30 years later, your life has gone by
Resentment and hatred, and living a lie
Unwilling to change, you don't get it, you don't hear
and all I have is an answer, to the beginning of my tears [comments] => 1 [counter] => 154 [topic] => 48 [informant] => darkscorpio [notes] => [ihome] => 1 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
