why do I feel so empty
what am I supposed to do

Thoughts swirling in my head
so confusing but yet so clear
a prisoner of my past
what is it that keeps me here

I have a wonderful life
great family, great friends
a great boyfriend who loves me
and yet I dont think I can fend

So what's the reason for my misery
the purpose of my pain
the object of my tribulation
why do I go insane

I'm living in the past
can't focus on today
I've no future to look ahead to
and I've but one thing left to say

My insecurity is a plague
that will not set me free
the anxiety is overwhelming
I need someone to save me

The realms of depression and it's firm grasp it has over a person. I suffer from severe depression and know so well those horrible thoughts that plague the head. A very well penned piece of poetry. Thanks so much for shgaring it with us.
