so far away
into a world
I cannot say.

She stands there alone
cold in the rain
thinking of her life
incomplete with pain.

Dreaming to go
to a different place
someplace that
she can be herself.

She sits in her room
drawing on her wrists
she calls it her life story
not depression slits.

She's feeling invisible
once again
this can't be happening
it has to end.

She has no one by her side
she's all alone
her soft warm heart
has turned to cold stone.

She doesn't understand
why this is her life
completely filled with
hurt, pain, and strife.

She blames herself
she cries every night
hoping that soon
something will go right.

She tried to hold on
for a few more years
but never seeming
to get rid of these tears.

She stopped the cuts
dealing with pain another way
she stopped eating
every single day.

She began to lose weight
she quit going to school
she had not one care
for anything in the world.

She never got out of bed
she had no reason to
she began to feel so weak
and knew what she had to do.

She cut once again
to see what it was like
she's now able to be happy
for that night she took her life.
