Array ( [sid] => 114698 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => In The Garden [time] => 2006-02-12 15:14:43 [hometext] => I had this poem among some others for several months, before I could put it together with the beginnings of another poem. [bodytext] => I once was just a weed
Until you selected me for seed
To plant with your loving hands
To grow into a bloom that could withstand

Planted there to understand
All the hardship known to man
Flowers of every color, fragrance and bloom
Giving off a pungent scent of Mother Nature's perfume

A prism of rainbow colors to glimmer
Kissed by the rain and warmed, to shimmer
All pollinated by the butterfly flitting around to each one
While, with angels, basking in the warmth of the sun

Perhaps only paradise could be more beautiful
As one pauses to take in the view
When witnessed by observing first hand
One wonders how this glorious garden began

With the addition of fruit trees for taste and pleasure
Offering shelter and shade for respite together
What would be the purpose for lingering there
Possibly a reward for those who care

Perhaps this garden, Eden, we're told
Is a special sanctuary for those in the fold
Whose seed was nurtured and grown
So the garden of life might be with the Lord, a repose [comments] => 8 [counter] => 231 [topic] => 62 [informant] => Willofree [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => spiritual )

This is exquisite. The verses flows so smoothly and the imagery is wonderful. I hope at the end of my journey on earth I can be one of the beautiful flowers chosen to grow in the beautiful garden of my creator.

Smiles,
Rita

I keep seeing growth in the things you write Terry. More speciffically ... in the way you write. The words chosen here ... the near rhymes, not compromising for the use of perfect rhyme. It works well. I enjoyed this read.
