For picking up the pieces
Then stowing them away
Ironing out the creases

Thanks for putting back together
My broken little heart
Never complaining one bit
That we're a thousand miles apart

Thanks again for sheltering me
And blocking out the rain
But in doing so, I'm afraid
You've added to my pain

You've worked so hard to help me
Get through, or over, it all
But you've also denied yourself
True love when it came to call

She can make you smile
More than I ever could
She'll mean more to you
More than I ever would

I can tell it's not there anymore
I can see it in your eyes
You just don't love me the way you used to
So it's time we said our goodbyes

So thanks again my darling
For showing me all love could be
And caring so much that you would
Put your feelings aside for me

But that's not what I want at all
Leaving your heart empty and blank
I don't need love that's not mine

This is so sad. What a horrible thing to realize. You portrayed thefeeling well though, it'ssimple and direct, strong emotion.
