[hometext] => One of my first serious poems.
[bodytext] => I saw her walking the streets tonight,
Barely dressed her make-up a sight. In search of men to pay her money, Don't you know there is a better way honey? She’s in search of something to ease the pain, She walks the streets, using her body for gain. Wasn’t that long, since she left home, Searching for a life, she could call her own. A straight 'A' student, with a heart that bleeds From the lost of a mother, that left her incomplete. She left her home on a dark and rainy night, And started out in search of the light. Headed to a land, she never knew before, It wasn’t long, before she was face on the floor. Caught up in drugs, as a search for the cure, Over-ridden with a pain, she couldn’t deny anymore. What a beautiful girl, once a standout in a crowd, Cries silently during the day, and at night out loud. She walks the streets trying to stay alive, But slowly she knows, she’s dyeing inside. But a pity, to watch a life go astray, She’s one of many, just another run-a-way.
