A highly enthused awl
is presently making its way to China
just outside my 10 X 10 holding pen
where paper clips, loose change, and an
empty soup container quiver like
a martyr with badly timed second thoughts.
Pens and pencils give into the fray
While a wayward phone and staple remover
stubbornly bore off temptation
and I, less inclined to resist,
