I live in a world of my own
where there’s no room for your point of view
You would never understand
What drives me to do the things I do

I look right through you
I talk at you
I feel nothing

I’m not afraid of anything
The world doesn’t hold any surprises for me
Not anymore
I’ve seen too much evil to sleep peacefully
So I just stay awake and chase the dreams away

I watch everything around me fall to pieces
I enjoy the sound of braking glass
It’s like music to me ears
The soothing sounds of sorrow
Is all that I can hear

Why do you speak so loud
Can’t you tell that I’m not listening
Your words get lost in my cloud of apathy
I don’t hear them

I live in a world of my own

A very good write, and I certainly sympathize. Apathy, however is the greatest of human evils. Get up and do something is the attitude we all should have. Unfortunately we all fall victim to the apathy bug when things overwhelm us.
