My very first love,
And now I remember,
All that I tried so hard to forget.
The plans that we made,
The time that we had,
The love that I gave,
And happy days and sad,
Now, and now I remember,
But with no hate or regret,
I live day to day,
Wishing by my side you had stayed.
I was so young,
But I wonder what you would think of me now,
How much I have changed since then.
Now I remember.
We kissed in the night,
By the river so bright.
Holding hands in the darkness,
Brought us only light,
Sitting outside sipping coffee,
And drinking in each others souls.
Meeting at “our usual spot.”
Now I remember,
That which I had longed to forget.
But I have loved and lost since then,
So now I can remember and rejoice,
Filled with thankfulness to you,
And love, so much love, now and forever,
I remember.
