as if it is a seed that needs the water to pour,
flow over in order for it to show up
and light up the world for me specially made up-
aint nothing but a monkey’s wedding I be craving,
the sunshine through the rain I be having.

------------------------------------------------------------

Can someone tell me what’s up
with my twisted mindset?
if there aint no hardship pulling me down,
seems like there’s no point in life.
As if satisfaction has its roots embedded
in prosecution- seeing the darkness
gives me the courage to harness
the courage to encourage myself to
believe that fulfilment lies in the fact
that misery gives me a sense of mystery,
setting me apart from the rest.

At first glance of that concluding rainbow,
I know it initiates the start of degrowth.
I know that soon my ink will dry up,
sometimes I wonder why I don’t just give up.
It wasn’t meant for me to do what I do.
It started out as something for me to do_
It served its purpose; don’t need it no more,
no- one even cares for the stuff I write,
what am I keeping on for.
I know it’s not making a difference in anyone’s life-
Why do I keep on trying, I can only write
when I’m down- now that I aint down
don’t have a thing to say

Please don't think no one cares. Some of us do but our lives at the moment are full of other responsibilites that cannot be denied. I used to feel the same way when I first started writing. Only sadness inspired me. Yet as I continued to write, kept pushing forward, I found that I could write about anything that inspired me in life. Happy, sad, glad, euphoric, etc. Don't give up. Life is full of much more than sadness and grief. You are talented and it would be such a waste for you to give up trying on a God given gift.

Smiles,
Rita
