Array ( [sid] => 117252 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Survivor [time] => 2006-03-28 19:38:07 [hometext] => This is about my dear closest friend, who survived . [bodytext] => She stood there bare. The lumps were there.
The doctor said,"They're everywhere."
"I want them out "I heard her shout.
And that's what surgery was all about.

But chemo first I heard them say,
so we can shrink the lumps away.

And shrink they did they were hard to find.
the surgeon, he was very kind.

Radiation came, radiation went.
And all that time was quite well spent.

The puzzles passed the time of day,
until the nurses whisked her away.

The machine was big and she was scared,
but those two nurses were well prepared.

They talked her through each step of the way,
Arms up! Chin up!Don't move! Just stay!

Her skin turned red and itched all day,
and they told her "that it will go away."

She's done at last
the great staff there made the time go fast.

And so for now her time has come
to say "THANK YOU"to everyone.

This is the story of my best friend
I stood by her till the end
her strength, her courage
has taught me well
that there is hope, it's in her message.
I wrote this poem in her honor
cause she's my friend like no other.

I agree with Spell, a truly wonderful poem written by a truly wonderful friend. If everyone had a friend like you, no one would have to be lonely.

You wrote this with great tact. This is something hard to deal with and you stood by her like a champ. Im going through something similar and its hard to stay strong when you see them going through such things. Your an angel!

I can't begin to imagine what your friend went through, having you to support her through this must have helped immensly.

I remember years ago my boy had a strain of meningitis fortunately he came through ok.

when I was in the hospital a met a family who's daughter had a brain tumour she was only about 6, she wasn't expected to make it, I never found out to this day what happened to her.

Made me appreciate just how valuable life is.

This is a fine tribute to your friend.

J.

Bravo! I applaud you for this great write, and I applaud your friend for having the courage to face something so devistating. This is a very strong write, it tells the story of a very difficult time in the life of your very courageous friend. She is very blessed to have a friend as good as you, to stand by her, and support her through a very difficult time. Gods Blessings to you both. Mary

Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away. ~Dinah Craik

This is a cleaver, free-flowing, rhythmic tribute for faithful friends. Beautifully ascribed, well done. The Son of the Morning is surely shining His resurrection rays, against such Death, on behalf of your friend. For in many cases, one are not so blessed.

Praiseworthy and brilliantly ascribed!

~Lilly-Quill
