I had water on my brain
You don't know how much you mean
All these years
Now I have to let go
How can anyone give away
One that means so much
Sigh

Believe me I wanted to cry
Your dad the macho man
Soft as putty
You mould me yet I scold
The year you turned fifteen
Sigh

In my chair I sit and wonder why
I see you in younger years
Eighteen months
Rosy cheeks
Curly hair
Sigh

God I
Yes we have room
Yes go get her I said
Jesus comes in either sex
A stranger you may meet
Sigh

To the store and dresses I buy
Frilly things
Laces and pink
Eighteen months
You were born to me
Sigh

Grown men don't cry
Thinking back
You are young a toddler
Then wishing to be eleven or twelve
Fifteen sixteen
Sigh

I wipe my eyes
Moisture you won't see
I held beauty on my lap
Now I must set you free
I don't want to
Sigh

Christmas and glory be's on high
An angel
Teen years and I had to slap
Answers I didn't know
I love You
Sigh

Family visits and family dies
You're a woman
Eighteen months you came to me
Sent from God I truly believe
Pink panties and frilly lace
Sigh

Today I set you aside
Ringlets such pretty hair
Tiara sparkling
A groom so proud
Handsome too
Sigh

By the truth of life I abide
I hugged my beauty today
Jesus hold them very close
To love honor and obey
Till death do we part
Sigh

Of all the words I cannot describe
Daughter of how I feel
Father no I am not the best
All of these many years
I held you inside of me
Sigh

I reminisce and wonder why
You love me as you do
Rosy cheeks and curly hair
A beautiful white dress
Ringlets so beautiful
Sigh

Daugher my eyes are dry
My heart goes bump de bump
Each beat is hard
I held beauty ever close
Now you're married to love and hold
Sigh

Time will pass bye and bye
In happiess I write this poem
In sadness I to write this poem
Live your lives the best you can
You are married now go live as one
I am happy and no longer
Sigh

To Brian and Mary Ann
To love and to hold
For evermore

Sinned

Absolutely beautiful. So much love and tenderness. Oh is it ever hard to let go. Isn't it?
A small death, - I believe death will be easier if we have to go through small deaths in our life time.

The poem construction wit those small pyramides is exquisite.
Thanks so much for sharing Dennis
Blessings
Elizabeth
