Yesterday put a twinkle in my eye
truly made me want to fly
to all corners of the sky
but, Darling, I dont know why.
Yesterday I dropped my head down to cry
till you came by, asked me why,
kissed my tear drops, made them dry
though you were just passing by.
Yesterday we held hands, talked,
wore our soles out as we walked,
cut a key my heart was locked
when you freed me well it rocked.
Yesterday as strangers met.
Come to know you, no regret,
know the best has not come yet,
you give all and all youll get.
Yesterday we were still two
struggling lost as folks do.
Finally fate made a pair
into one to love, to care.
Yesterdays dream whispered, wove
a tapestry, a warm cove,
then etched names upon the sand
united by Gods own hand
yesterday.
