Who would have known, that you I held so dear
Would be the one who makes me shed a tear
For when my heart decides to make a choice
You state your cause; confusion in your voice
I took a chance and told you how I felt
And hoped your answer would make my heart melt
Instead it led to my heart's destruction
Only you could aid in re-construction
But that is a dream, never to come true
If your love for me would stay a taboo
Now I wonder if you had been worthwhile
When what we had is gone but you stay hostile
In the end I gave you my only heart
You ended up just tearing it apart
