Just today I was thinking
About a wonderful girl I know
As I do every day
Since I met her.
But todays thoughts were
Not the same as usual.
You see, I like her
And I want to be with her,
But I do not know how
To tell someone these things that
Ive known for but a week,
And have never met in person.
Then it hit me,
You tell her like this:
Before I met you,
My life was lonely.
Before I met you,
I prayed to meet someone,
That would be a great wife
For me one day;
And for someone who
Would bring happiness
Into my life.
And after I met you,
I felt that I could not
Let you get away.
After I met you,
I felt my search
Was complete.
Am I wrong to say,
That I like you?
Am I wrong to say,
That I want to be with you?
Perhaps,
But only because
Of the little time Ive known you.
One may say this is desperation,
Because of all the loneliness
That I dont want.
This is not desperation.
This is knowing a good thing,
When one sees it,
And I believe,
You are my good thing.
But dont get scared.
Dont run away.
You are like me,
In so many ways.
And because of this,
I feel I can tell you this.
But if I was wrong,
Then let me know.
Perhaps one day,
Ill finally know
If what I longed for with you
Is what is really in His plan
For me.

This is a great poem i really enjoyed reading it, I guess when you meet someone they can really turn your life around this has made me think that maybe I shpuld tell my ex boyfriend how I really feel maybe then he'll take me back.

I really like your poem.
Fact is there was someone once I felt about like this. My life and his life though seemed to go in different directions. He was someone I worked for. When I left my job and moved away we finally talked about it.
He drove over 700 miles with his children just to come and see me. Now, he is my husband, best friend, and lover. What more can I say!
Your poem is touching!
