Shall I ascend into the sky?
Or shall I descend into the bowels of the earth?
No more to experience joy and mirth.
I long to travel to worlds distant and unknown,
And see the face of He who sits upon the thrown.
But I doubt I shall ever see His face,
For great is my sin and worse my disgrace.
Shall I drink the purest of water enough that I may burst?
Or shall molten lava be the only liquid to quench my thirst?
Shall I venture past that gleaming white gate?
Or shall walls of fire seal my fate?
Some believe neither in heaven or hell,
And I say it may be just as well.
For if they both are indeed real,
The hot flames of Hades I shall surely feel.
I wonder how many share my plight,
And with these thoughts lie awake at night.
Hence I ask myself the question: Heaven or Hell?
Heaven I do pray for, but I fear in hell I shall dwell.

I know that one day I shall die,

the question is do you want heaven bad enough to do everything possible to get into it? this piece stuck to the topic and that did get kind of old by the cliched rhymes and phrases used, yet you didnt go wandering off on other topics. these lines are superb, "Shall I drink the purest of water enough that I may burst?
Or shall molten lava be the only liquid to quench my thirst?" i wish more of this poem had this type of originality so that it would set this poem apart from all the other posts on the topic, since those other posts dont have lines as fine as these.

Well I am here. I read your comment. To be truthful, I am here for the dark writer. And others. ok. now for your poem here. You know, it is questionable.. Oh yes, Satan can cure.. but why even go there. God is much stronger, so we don't really need to put Satan into the subject. Ok... so then.. heaven or hell.. choose.. what is in your heart... not the past... your heart.. where you are at now. Now.. I am tired of trying to fix.. I left this sight.. I can't even get my account and poetry out of here decently.. I don't know, but I will lay it on your poem here.. I woke up startled... if all think me crazy fine... but I live in His word, and it is early 4 in the morning, I got like 4 hrs to be up, get ready to put on my makeup and dress proper for church.. well. anyway., message me.. I am here until someone sees my request to relieve me of this sprititual poetry, I so pray to write.. was sent to me by God.. I have my manuscript to send out for my book, I don't know.... anyway.. nice write.. talking in my sleep here.. I guess.. or.... am I..
