I've been waiting ohh so long, We've been apart over half a year, I heard from you, just today. You told me you'd be coming soon my dear, I've held you in my heart all along, Waiting for you to tell me you'd be here, I'm hangin' on even though I don't feel strong, It's only this distance that makes me fear, I know our love can hold on through all the tears. I hold some fears, I know there near, You see I know your going away soon my dear, You've had it hard and thats no lie, Soon you have this operation to go through, I can't be there by your side, And that makes me a little blue, I wanted to be by your side, To show you the way back to me. My biggest fear in all of this, Is you won't remember any of this, The first kiss, When we first met, the way you wrapped me in your arms. The first time that we made love, And how attracted to each other we really are, My sons and I are waiting for you to come and stay, Even though we're not really that far away, I just hope in all of this, that when all is said and done, That you my darlin man Gary won't have forgotten us.
