I prepare for you a smile
Break me in a thousand pieces
I'll still stay for a while
Read between my artificial smile
Tell me, do you know?
Can you read my secret message
Between the X's and O's?

Lies become constantly easier
As the weeks flow gently by
I'm just here to make you happy
(No youll never see me cry)
Shed a tear for you my love?
I believe that I would never
You're barely real to me at all,
You just use me as your lever.

You just focus on looking good
Leave me to do the rest
I'll work on making this look real
I'll keep this facade abreast.
It is mainly my pseudo-affection
That keeps you well aglow
But can you read the little message
Between the X's and the O's

But can you read the little message
Between the X's and the O's"

My file of fav'rites gettin' fat
This poem be 'nother reason fer that.

You have so very tenderly proffered a gentle warning to one so pseudo-loved to read between the lines of x and o, the original of your union.

Ya just got a new fan.

A very gentle write yet so full of sadness. I do hope that one day you find nothing but true, passionate love between your Xs and Os. Until then keep feeling, for even feeling misery and pain is better than not feeling at all. When you feel the negative, the positive will be further accentuated. A great write again!
