Somewhere to wander, with plenty of trees,
I need to escape from tiresome grey,
I'm sick of the same thing day after day,

I feel like venturing off for a week,
With my long garden cane and a white handkerchief,
Slung over shoulder, on a long dusty road,
Just me and my dog on adventures untold,

I'd live in a forest, Not far from a river,
Build shelters from sticks and hunt rabbit for dinner,
Make fires too warm on a frosty twilight,
And gaze at the stars as I lay in the night,

Then come dawn, I'll wash by a lake,
Naked and shivering as I rinse my face,
Cleansed by the waters, I shake as I stand,
Then sip at the nectar I cup in my hands,

Fish is for breakfast I'd catch in a net,
Then naked I'd wander, as clothes are all wet,
I'd paint my face in animal blood,
Then go to collect berries and nuts from the wood,

When nature calls I'd whip my pants down,
I'll go where I please because no ones around,
I could swear all I like, and sleep all the time,
Lay in the nude as I bathe in sushine,

Grizzly Adams he springs to mind,
I'll make do with squirrels, no racoons to find,
I'd feel quite proud of my fine squirrel hat,
There'll be no one to see me, no one to laugh,

A break from the norm, is all that I need,
Somewhere to wander with plenty of trees,
Here in society, my life's utterly drab,
It's always the same and it's driving me mad,

Hey sounds great, I'm coming with ya. LOL Guess that wouldn't be the same though. (on the need for the alone time). Seriously, a great write and the best kind of escape. Nature is the ultimate healer. Peace, Laura

lol.

The start of this sounded so wonderful, and after a while I was like..uh...no. :P

I like this poem, it made me laugh, but I can understand the seriousness of it, too, as that first stanza describes a feeling I have had, myself, just recently.

Good write,
Phyllis xxx
