I sit and wait and sit and wait
Hoping and praying that you call in time
Pacience doens't come easy to me
As I stare at the phone in hope, in desperation
My hands shaking
My breath quick and shallow
My eyes nervously twitching from the screen to the phone
In anticipation I pace
Will you? Will you call me back in time?
One eye on the clock and one on the phone
I feel my heart beat faster and faster
I'm afraid that if the phone does ring
I'll jump straight out of my skin
Fingering the buttons I wonder if I was too late
I think back and try so hard to remember
But the invitation is all blank
Will you call...did I miss it?
I need to know
Twiching nervously I feel more and more hope slip away
Now all that is left for me to do
Is wait...
