A place for idiots, fools and clowns,
A place of grief , and also dread,
Its time to put these things to bed,

So what now, you may think,
Has the girl gone mad, or on the brink,
"No" she replys, I have finally awoken,
From an endless sleep, that should be broken,

Its time for me to take stock,
And open the door that was locked,
To start again , and start to be,
The person that I know is me,

To be sociable, and go out again,
To start afresh , yes! and make new friends,
Too long have I been on my own,.
Stuck inside my little home,

Scared by the past and all its woes,
Frightened away by unseen foes,
A shadow of herself it seems,
Whose only escape was in her dreams,

So now I grasp life with both hands,
And know that others will understand,
Life is too short to hide away,
So thats why my new life will start today [comments] => 2 [counter] => 191 [topic] => 21 [informant] => jerseysue [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

The therapy of personal covenants in poetry is a way I've often avoided "professional" therapists! It's really great to capture past perceptions reviewed and remolded to the now. Ya done it here, sue! Great write!

Sue, I think you expressed yourself with perfection in this.
-and I know there are many who would relate.

Nice rhyme and flow. And what a message!!
