Array ( [sid] => 121682 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Life That Tried Once More (The Window, The Door, and the Fatal Book) [time] => 2006-06-12 21:08:41 [hometext] => symbolistic: window is depression, the door is inhibition, the book is the life that i'm fated to have, just in case you wouldn't figure it out [bodytext] => This window
So fake and fragile
Has been my prison guard for quite some time
Kept me from reality
Kept me from the world outside

This window
So placid and faceless
Seems more than a simple window
Conjuring this blinding mist
Never letting me see or know
What's really going on,
So you see...
Its not a window at all
Its a door that blocks me
From everyone and everything

It shall remain as long as it pleases
Until I've lost all touch
It want to see the perish of me
In turn: it remains shut

No matter how hard I stare
No matter how long I look
I'm trapped in the Devil's Snare
The fatal ending of my book

He stays and reads to me
With well expression, yet, silently
I want to open the door
If I could find the key
If only, If only....

A sudden burst of flames!
The dreadful book no longer remains.

A crack; a splinter!
The wood hits the floor
The crack and shatter of glass!
The window is no more

The life that tried once more
The old life that was no more [comments] => 1 [counter] => 173 [topic] => 31 [informant] => SmileSkinDeep [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => StoryPoetry )

An excellent write, clearly expressed, and well conveyed.
