Strange the way these shadows dance, moving against the wall,
To the music of your breathing, the gentle rise and fall,
Strange the way these voices talk, soft within my ear,
To the sweet hum of your laughter, the silent falling tear,
Strange the way these fingers shift, reaching towards your heart,
As though trying in desperation to prevent you tearing me apart,
Strange that though you love me, you are still willing to leave,
As though in order to be true, you must see me grieve,
Strange the way this soul of mine longs to hear your voice;
As though all in love is fair, as though I have a choice.
