I’m losing touch, I’m losing control.

You’re taking everything that’s left of me.
My flesh, my heart, my memory.

Not knowing the extent of this danger,
But to this, I am no stranger.

It’s all too familiar, I’ve done this before,
But the grasp you have on me is hard to ignore.

You see the pain and hurt in my eyes.
For the window to my soul can tell no lies.

You’re filling me up with your own ways of thinking.
I’m filled too much, to your power I’m sinking.

Not being able to get one word out.
For you know the word before it leaves my mouth.

I’m losing this battle of mind versus spirit.
Maybe if I listened closer, I’d be able to hear it.

Whispering to me to come to Him.
Wanting, in Him, a new life to begin.

Maybe I’ll look and see if I can find it,
But the darkness of this hole is keeping me blinded.

It’s a decision of life or death.
What I would give to have a clean, crisp breath.

It’s not that easy to just say farewell,
From that life that has me under its spell.

Oh but it is, if I only understood
The love He has for me that nobody could.

Ok, I’m gonna try, I’ll give it my best.
This whole thing will be hard to digest,

But I’ll do it, no turning back now.
His love and mercy will guide me out some how.
