The Red Knights head, Rolled from the bed, On which it was placed, To scare the king instead, The people were furious, The country was a mess, Long before the knight, Ever stole the address, After the power was restored, The people made a demand, Share your gold!, Enrich our land!, The king thus obliged, The treasury was split, The money spread out, And all got a kit, It gave the people rations, And gold enough, To pick themselves up, And dust off their stuff, The market was jump- started, The land became rich, The forts were refurbished, And all without a hitch, People became healthy, They were happy with their lives, But low and behold, Did a red shadow arise

I have just started here and seen your poem come up after I posted mine "sure Im Irish" (theres my wee plug over with)
I realy liked it and then read the first red knight poem. Both of them were really good, i liked the way you infused humour with the subject. |
