At the end of it all, blossoms the light
This light you cannot see, but the relief...
The relief is powerful in its might,
Yet as elusive as a night-bound thief.
Now I may have won this weaponless fight.

The first test is one very hard to see
The answer is what you choose it to be:
Is it love, lust, or common desire?
Will to own that to which you aspire?
This riddle's solution is hard to find
And when find it you do, take heed, pay mind.

The second test even the deaf can hear,
The voice, a beacon when all is unclear,
I hear it speaking wherever I go,
A voice I value more than all else know.
One day you hear it and turn, spin around;
But the face you seek is not to be found.
Greatly I fear the day, above all else,
When I cannot match my friend with a sound.

The third is full as any I could tell
You can smell the scent, everywhere it dwells
His, or hers? Yes, I know of whom you speak,
Breathe it in; beware of how much you seek.

No, No, weaponless this fight is not fought;
Of sorrow the sword is made, of love the shield is wrought.
Many days the shield will be chipped and scarred,
Until eventually the soul beneath is marred.

In this battle every person was warred
Ties are broken and emotions floored
Alas, weep long for the lost better days!
Rife among today's new life is the phrase:
Hey dude, wanna hear this? Last night I scored.

Amidst the tests exist much to take in,
Just keep going, and success you will find,
For even battles lost you can yet win.
When you do, slow down, maybe pay the fee,
Lest love exist only in memory.
