In the corner of my mind
It sits on a small table
In a small room
Most days this lamp is useless
My soul is lit up
With an internal sunshine
But then there are the times
When my soul is overcast
The long nights
When it seems the sun will never rise again
The times when the darkness overwhelms me
It is then that I turn on
The lamp in the corner of my mind
It gives off a steady warm glow
A balm to my soul
And a light in my darkness
I came upon this lamp quite by accident
While stumbling blind through the darkness
Searching for anything
Searching for something
To save my soul
The lamp
Is my memories of you

I love this kind of metaphor in a poem, it gives really vivid picture about what's going on in someone. great job!

I really like the theme. And the last line ties everything together nicely.
