In the end of August is when we fell apart
In the end of August is when my life took a turn
In the end of August is when I felt real heart burn

The pain lasted through out the fall
When I never heard your voice or received a call

The pain lasted through out the winter
When it was cold, and I was bitter

The pain lasted through out the spring
When flowers bloomed and birds would sing

Although the summer has gone by fast
I still remember our vast past

Last August is when you broke my heart
Last august is when I fell apart

The end of July is approaching quick
This August I no longer will be heart sick

ha, good write, i like how you address your heartache throughout the poem, then at the end say that you will no longer be captive to it.

I was in this exact same place 2 years ago. It brought back alot of memories, believe me, i wish i had forgotten, but it's always there when you love someone that much. A very compelling compilation for me. Thankyou for posting this, and i hope you can get through this as i have. Take care, Kimberly
