Array ( [sid] => 124398 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => An apology to a Friend [time] => 2006-08-13 04:18:41 [hometext] => This is a reply to a good friend of mine, who helped me to start living again. Not a romantic interest, just a friend for life. He lets me take my anger out on him, what a good person he is. Sue x [bodytext] => I am not sad, neither am I bad,
Just an emotional wreck is me,
I have loved and lost ,all at my cost,
But thats just the way it must be,

For you are the one who awakened my mind,
Told me to live, to seek and to find,
So when I am frightened, I take it out on you,
For you understand me, you know that its true,

I don't need sympathy, can't accept it you know,
I never received it when I was down low,
When i asked for help when Graham was ill,
None was forthcoming, and it hurts me still,

So I am not really soft, just on my guard,
In fear of the people who made my life hard,
The ones who at his funeral,so loving and giving,
Who didn't have time for him when he was living.

So yes i am just an emotional wreck,
The girl inside so different yet,
The Sue you met is the real me,
A happy and friendly lady is she,

So don't be alarmed when I blow my top,
Back on this island, stuck on this rock,
I feel trapped like a bird on a barbed wire fence,
With no means of escaping ,its just my defence,

Yes its not going to be easy, thats true,
But let me send this message to you,
Thanks for the help and guidance you give,
I will be thankful to you as long as I live.

Tender, warm and definitely heartfelt, this poem is, not only a tribute to your friend but, an intimate look at where you're coming from. Very good work, Sue, and so beautifully penned.
