Is staring straight at me,
Well, he knows that there’s been twelve before,
But he wants me to add one more,
With his puppy-dog eyes,
How can I say no,
He’s coming back to mine,
‘Cos he’s nowhere to go,
I’m breaking my own rules,
Playing a game of fools,
For unlucky one and three,
And the way he looks at me.

Well we stumble through the door,
Fall straight to the floor,
I’m lost within his smile,
I could stay here for awhile,
There’s something about the feel of his skin,
He knows the state of mind that I’m in,
He knows how to touch and he knows how to please,
He knows how to flirt and he knows how to tease.

My unlucky one and three,
Is softly kissing me,
With his fingers through my hair;
If it’s wrong I don’t care,
His mouth is warm and the room is cold,
I’d rather have him than no one to hold,
One little touch gives me shivers inside,
When I said this was it, I’m afraid that I lied.

Unlucky one and three,
Doesn’t know what he’s doing to me,
My defences crumbled under his hands,
Turning swift into shifting sands,
Time has repaired that piece of my heart,
And something inside thinks we could start,
And work it out,
Without a shadow of doubt.

Maybe thirteen is my lucky number,
It seems that the maths are pulling me under,
I like the lightning and I love the thunder,
All my beliefs have been cast asunder,
Because unlucky one and three,
Knows just what to do to me.

The clock has stilled and my throat is dry,
As he falls asleep I can hear him sigh,
I promised myself that I wouldn’t cry,
It’s just the thought of saying goodbye,
To unlucky one and three,
God, what has he done to me,
It seems that I’m a woman once more,
And I don’t understand; I was a girl, before,
Unlucky one and three,
Laid his eyes on me.

Here in the USA years ago, we had a thing they called, "the new math" introduced into our school systems. I think it was outrageously radical. Hmmm. Interesting, very lighthearted way to handle a conundrum only you can work out ... with this "new math." Especially with the abracadabra of:

"I like the lightning and I love the thunder,"

Beautiful write.
