I will go and see her
Whenever I get a chance
And watch her in the slightest breeze
Do her constant dance
Sometimes all her rustling leaves
Just put me in a trance
Excuse me miss
Now can I have this dance

(Chorus)

‘cause I’m in love with a tree
Not your usual philosophy
But her roots are so far in the ground
You can sense the security
And I know as long as I’m around
Right there she’ll always be…
I guess I’m just in love
With a tree

Now she don’t wear no fancy clothes
Or fancy smelling stuff
And it don’t seem to bother her
If her complexion’s a little rough
And she don’t mind when I sing my songs
Seems she can’t get enough
I guess I’ll stay with her
‘Till she leaves me

(Chorus)

(Bridge)
Now trees don’t rule ya
They’re true to ya
They never let you down
Forever young when they’re young
Seems they’ll always be around
And when they’re old
They’re forever old
Majestic and profound…

Unless we cut ‘em down

Now sometimes when this crazy world
Really gets me down
I go down to my favorite tree
Sit umbrella’d on her ground
Her subtle whisperings bring me hope
We can turn this world around…
Sure you can say
YOU’RE NUT’S!
It’s just a tree

But… (Chorus)

*clapping* Coming from a tree loving, tree hugging hippy....I really dug your tune. Very nicely done. Your love for trees is outstanding. I could relate to so many things in here. Thank you so much for sharing.
Peace, Laura
