Basting in the rain taking the pain
I know no feeling of this torture
Day by day I consume
This agony with no fear

Running away from these troubles
It’s no use since it’s my shadow
When night falls it keeps with me

The troubles I’ve seen
Conspire together
And try to overwhelm me

No way out I take the pain
No matter how much
Try as to overcome me
I’m not one to fall

My feet are as the northern star
Rooted I stand unshaken through
The wind that passes by

My mind and body
Together withstand all
But one has leaked from within
It bleeds through

And to this I have fallen
I have been felled by it
And hope never to again
My heart
My love

Sublime poetry ... I love the way you describe your pain as your shadow ... that is so true - something you can't shake off when your heart has been broken. ..... Jan
