Let it all out

They danced in their streets
As we leapt from windows
As the dust settled
Crumpled metal
Paper towers crumbled
Airliners logged in dense foil
Monumental tears
Spoiled the beautiful morning
We toiled with ideas
On how to ease the growing
Fears that enslave a country to foreign wars
Obligate the courageous to avenge our dead
Prevent another dark day
By their own admission
Seems inevitable
Stoic vegetables
Prodded into submission
Nodded heads
Give the go-ahead
Permission to invade
Decisions based on faith
For power
Meaning oil
Meaning a tall grave
The soil still remains
At zero ground
A hero was found
Digging through the maze
Buckets of bones
Pass through a line of workers-
Who were moments ago at home
Now and forever
No longer

I live in the city you love to hate
Show me pity
Show me the way

This day
I am left unfulfilled
Time to rebuild
Time to live
As best we could

wow .. jyss. Bless you for this write, my friend.

it has left me in a pool of tears as big as
on the day remembered ~

Strongly emotional .. it has evoked a weakness and a
simultaneous strength within me. That day, my nation stood
still- aghast in horror, sadness and anger at the unbelievable
happenings south of the border. My heart bled that day,
as it does at the remembrance, (through your write), of
the FAR TOO MANY victims of this tragedy. I fear the ramifications
of that day, shall last to infinity ..

Exceptionally written piece.
Thank you for sharing it

~Breezy
(praying that we all, can live to overcome this,
and never EVER take freedom for granted ..)

I agree with everything said, what happened that day will live with us all for ever, its unbearable to think anyone could inflict such suffering on other humans. xxx

Great write. Thanks for sharing.
Peace, Laura (who remembers exactly where she was and what she was doing that day, as I'm sure many others do)

I had to dig for this, your voice is so powerful here. You and your great city were on my mind yesterday and I hope yesterday brought some peace and resolve to those still left with painful memories... Where is your voice jyss? Free it from its silenced trap... I know yesterday must've affected you, and I also know there is a pen just waiting to explode in your hands... Unleash your brilliance!

Forever your fan,

Scorp
