Cried herself to sleep at nights
Didn’t want to break the mask
She treasured a pearl

The pearl shone with the moonlight
Guarded jealously
To it she confessed
She dreamt of a non-stop flight

In the atmosphere
As a twinkling star up high
Looking down on the small people
Praying for an external ear

A greater meaning
Is supposed to be implied
Only silent velvet sky
Is someone there intervening?

Lonely voices cry
Together, in all their pain
She could only shed a tear
There could be no reply

Slowly she came back to earth
She opened her eyes
Saw clear, first for years
A spiritual rebirth
