"Good evening sir, a table for one ?"

"Yes, Andre that's fine , I'll be dining alone"

" And may I just ask sir is Madame all right ?"

"Not too well I'm afraid Andre`, in a bit of a plight
She's been quite under the weather though some better tonight".

"Give her our best sir we've missed her of late."

"I certainly will Andre, thanks for thinking of Kate."

************************************************************time passes

"Ah back again sir, a good evening.........I hope?, may I ask sir will you be dining alone?"

" Hello Andre, yes, and it's just David please, yes, it's still just a table for one"

"May I say sir you pair always gave us such pleasures
to serve and attend to for so many years
celebrations of birthdays, grandchildren's laughter
we're hoping for the best sir, our service awaits her."

**********************************************************time passes.

"A good evening Andre though I'm here rather late
I fear loneliness has left me in such a bad state
and afraid I'm as tired as ...I just don't recall when.
I was moping about and, it came to me then,
I was missing the nights that I dined here with my Kate"

" Well it's so nice seeing you again sir, not here as often of late,
we were pleased when you phoned sir, and how is our Kate?
I was told sir uh,... David, t'was here you two spent your first date?"

"She's still fighting the good fight Andre and holding her own,
she asked that I thank you while we spoke on the phone.

"Here?... Yes you're right, it's where we started our dates"

"Again give her our best sir.. David, your table awaits."

********************************************************time passes.

"Good evening David and how is our Kate?"

"Coming along Andre some better of late
We have been reminiscing of evenings spent here
and how it seems that you Andre, always appear
to greet and to seat us in such a warm fashion
making all feel so welcome, ...that's our impression."

"Well David that's kind but couples like you two
are a pleasure to know and there are so very few
that make all of us here feel ..well ..appreciated
so it's really to you David that we're ingratiated.

Now I've a place by the fire the one our Kate prefers
When she's well and comes back it will always be hers."

*************************************************time passes.

"Ah! our lady Kate and sir.., David, what a pleasant ado
when you phoned for reservations ..and a for table for two!
The staff will be so pleased now you've returned here once more
I've occasioned a special reserve wine that I'm sure you'll adore."

" Thank you Andre, and ..for asking kindly of me,
it went not unnoticed, I came back healthy you see."

"Madame will , if it pleases, be seated next to the fire?
David has warned us that you still easily tire
so if there is anything you wish you but only need ask
If it doesn't happen as magic David will take us to task."

****************************************************tme passes.

"Good evening Andre it seems such a long while
Since I've been out alone, it's been such a trial"

"Ah! our Madame Kate, we were so sorry to hear
Of the loss of your David it brought us many a tear.

I've set you by the fire Madam Kate as you asked on the phone
with two full place settings,..you'll not have a table for one."
