one of my favorite times of the year.

Painting the trees a beautiful white,
with satin snow that glimmers in sunlight.

When I was a child outside I'd be found,
snowballs,snowmen and snow angels abound.

Taking my sled to the top of a hill,
riding it down and enjoying the thrill.

Slipping and sliding,so much fun I must say,
laughing with my friends all through the day.

Bundled up in coats,scarves and mittens,
tracing the pawprints of my cat and her kittens.

Mom would bring out some hot cocoa to sip,
our little noses red from the frosts winter nip.

Taking time to scate on grandpas frozen pond,
something to do that I was always so fond.

As dusk turned to dark it was a magical sight,
seeing ice crystals sparkle in moonlight.

Warm in my bed I would be snuggled in tight,
but I dreamed of the snow and the frosty winter's bite. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 263 [topic] => 43 [informant] => JennyF [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 3 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )
