Listen to our Prayers and be gracious always!

Thou art the absolute without any qualities but

Being the father of universe, be kind enough to

Destroy devils of war and save this earth!

Hurl the wicked ones unto hell and grant us prosperity

But not to frighten us with blasts of thunder or fire,

Do not frighten our progeny or us! May not even

A single one among us be destroyed or diseased!

With thy auspicious form of pure consciousness.,

O Lord, dwell in the hearts of your devotees

To destroy darkness deseases and misery of life,

of birth and death, be pleased to grant us knowledge!

Open our minds to get identified with thy supreme self

And be pleased to grant peace and life to our children!

O Rudra! O destroyer of sins and bestower of boons!

Whatever freedom thou hast granted us is all thy grace

Grant us happiness in this world as also in the next!

Don’t destroy our elders, neither children, nor adults,

Don’t destroy our parents, and these our beloved bodies!

Om Rudra, Obeisance! O lord of time, the three-eyed one!

May we be freed from the bondage of death

Even as a fragrant ripe cucumber from its stalk

And not be deprived of immortality in any case!

Om Rudra, Obeisance to the lord of universe, who is

In the fire, air, water and in the Sun and Moon

And who art all-pervading as our supreme self!

Om Namah Sivaaya, Om!

Venkat
How very hard you make me think. I accept that there must be intelligent entities which brought the cosmos into being but not that
they can be framed in human terms "he" or "she" with human "purposes". But that does not mean that we have differences of purpose.
You write very strongly with a wisdom of an older culture than mine. It will take mre some time to come to terms with it.

With a few changes in language, I could use this prayer to my God (as I understand Him).
So I say 'Amen' to those prayer requests. If I received them all, I would know I was already in Heaven! Ha! Friend Bizzy
