Ribbons of moonlight~

stream through the dark of night

Illuminating the swirling mists...

Runaways take flight~

at the stroke of midnight

Each other unable to resist...

Both willing to chance~

all risked by romance

Should any find out & raise alarm...

After one last dance~

neither dare to back glance

Tempted to stay in each others arms...

Secret vows taken~

that others have named, "sin"

For law considers their love a crime...

When day awakens~

passions again forsaken

As apart they must put in their time...

Ribbons of moonlight~

stream through the dark of night

Illuminating the swirling mists...

Runaways take flight~

at the stroke of midnight

Each other unable to resist...

Both willing to chance~

all risked by romance

Should any find out & raise alarm...

A feast for the hungry...
A very racy take on the double income work a day couple.

Your opening stanza is delicious a poetic christmas morning:

"Ribbons of moonlight~

stream through the dark of night

Illuminating the swirling mists..."

From green otherside grass comes a really a well contained context as everyday apart, couples are tempted; many of whom create whole industries right there (as your preface suggests) but you reel it in to:

"Secret vows taken~..."

till
:
"..passions again forsaken..."

This piece reveals a taste of the gravity of modern unions. Great Job!

I needed to read some serious poetry this is deep and sensitive and between the lines a bit hazey but then my eye sight is rather good. a beautiful writting as is all your poetry. seems it comes from a distant heart but sincere one at that. take care.
