Array ( [sid] => 128806 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Broken Lifeline [time] => 2006-11-28 23:14:39 [hometext] => My best freind since kindergarten, lost her almost 17 year old daughter to a drunken driver just last week. Mere words on paper cannot lessen that sorrow, but in sharing I find comfort. Hug your children and let them know everyday how precious they are. [bodytext] =>
Gone is the spark,

Gone the warmth and the breath,

Gone too, all that by which life is marked;

Taken by an untimely death.

So young a life is ended,

The child of the hearth lies broken.

Taken by another’s careless spending,

Removed from life like a game’s token.

Before her time, before her hour

Light of the family forever darkened.

Now left behind are those so sour,

Listening nightly for her voice they harken.

Gone her gentle spirit,

Gone a life of promise and of hope,

Gone too her life of simple merit;

Taken from those now left to cope.
