O Captain, My Captian Your ship has fought hard Many have died, And many wear the scars We have acted as one A force that burned bright, outshining the Sun. No one, no souls, no soldiers could know, The Love that we shared nor the blood it would shed. Not borders, not oceans, not words and not poems E'er could stop what we thought would just not. But Captain, O My Captain This was foolish and heavy We mobilized, and advanced Before we were ready The troops were all happy, well trained and well fed, Our cannons sang loudly, and bravely we tread! On and on, till we out shone our own Sun And it was by our own light that we blinded our guns. O Please Captain, See Captain I still Love you the same, Though I am blinded, bleeding, heart broken and maimed. Cos Captain, My Captain I now see that our seas will never be tamed. My Captain, My Mistress, Our arrows won't miss us They hit hard, they hit home, and straight through our hearts O Captain, My Captain We have both played our parts. My Battle, My Mistress, My Soul and My Heart I will always Love You, Till death, ever after our part.

I would like to think that Whitman & Lincoln would love that you dedicated this to your love perhaps with leaves of grass?
Some poems are cut like gems that need polishing to really break out the luster and 'shine on you crazy diamond'.
Good Job
Peace
