From the beauty of dreams
in warm embrace
first we begin by looking in
or near each others face
as it depends on what kind
of contact is intended...

From the shoulder tops
hips far apart
or belly to belly
crook to crook
as the deepest longest lasting
ones entwine and press
pushing past the skin
into the heart of partners
warming soul.

From the Old Norse
'hugga'
perhaps on a cold night
to band and fight against
penetrable winters edge
or solid remain
till gravity and time
take its toll.
A Hug
is a tool of survival.

Solution cement
to Love &
Cherish another and
Congratulate
in Plato's grasp
for little more
than five minutes a day
as it may be
true in some distant future
the very last of us
against flame
or ice
will hold each
other so tight.

aaawwwww dearest AJ~ this is so beautiful.
*Big Huggers* to you my dear friend. A warmth of a hug in loving arms helps brighten up ones day. A hug can make such a difference to a person in good times and in bad. We all need hugs and you dearest AJ have penned a most beautiful & uplifting piece of poetry. I have missed reading your work so much. I will be on & off here til I get better. Keep up the awesome work mate :-)
love n hugs from ur aussie mate,

This was really truthful in that sentimental kind of way, I was dragged in from the first segment:
"From the beauty of dreams
in warm embrace
first we begin by looking in
or near each others face
as it depends on what kind
of contact is intended..."
Because I haven't come across anyone with the attention span or the interest/inclination to learn of the science of hugs or even capture such a truth about hugs in writing or speech, this whole thing was just a rad experience to read. I am really happy that you wrote this and put it on here.

being a *hugger* myself, I really can relate to this. It is allowing another into your private space and sharing of spirit.
Peace and Light and HUG

Oh my word! This is WONDERFUL!! And so topical .. I was just
reading this very day, about hugs. How wonderous they are
indeed!

"A hug is more than mere phsical touch. It is a lightning-like connection
between two people. A link that expresses love, encouragement, comfort--
all the emotions that can reinforce a relationship, even turn a life
around. An incredible gift like that shouldn't be suppressed. It must be
shared." ~ Kevin Ireland

That wonderful quote I found today .. and then your beautiful and
most amazing poem. Thank you for this. (Someone's trying to
tell me something! lol) A glorious creation from the heart. You
possess a beauty of soul that is rare, my friend.

*many hugs*
~Breezy

I'm a huggy person and really must say,
A hug is no hug unless done this way....Great job. Who else could describe a hug in such a magnificent way.
